Somu co-founded New Science Ventures in 2004. He serves on several Boards of NSV's portfolio companies including Achronix Semiconductor, RF Arrays, Therox, BioVex, Receptor Biologix, and Celleration. He also is an observer to the boards of Light Sciences Oncology, Xoft and BioProcessors. Prior to starting New Science Ventures, Somu was a Director at McKinsey & Co. and at various times led their Strategy Practice, Technology Practice and HealthCare Practice. While at McKinsey, he advised leading multinational companies in the pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology, photonics, software and semiconductor industries. He also was a member of McKinsey's Investment Committee. Somu received his undergraduate degree (B.Tech.) from the Indian Institute of Technology and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Thomas co-founded New Science Ventures in 2004, and as CFO of NSV has responsibility for all financial, legal and administrative matters. He serves on the Board of Directors for RF Arrays and Oxyrane, and is an observer to the boards of Silicon Space Technology and Payzy. Prior to starting New Science Ventures, he was a senior professional in real estate finance and investment for 30 years. He was head of real estate investment banking at First Boston and Smith Barney and head of commercial mortgage lending at MetLife. Thomas received his undergraduate degree in Government from Wesleyan University and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Senior Associate
Arden joined New Science Ventures in early 2006. Arden focuses on all aspects of New Science Venture's business, including financial analysis, due diligence, portfolio management and internal operations. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Morgan Stanley as a banking analyst, at a contract research organization focusing on clinical research and as a clinical research consultant to Principal Investigators. He received his B.S. from Haverford College with a focus on Biology and Economics.
